Design a system that lets the wanderer-type tourist explore a city's culture in a raw and unexpected way.
Overview
FORAGE is a device and app system that lets you explore a city through its street food culture. Keeping discovery at its core, it creates an experience that remains true to itself. It guides you but doesn't plan for you. Instead, it lets you control your own experience.
How does one truly experience a city in its rawest form?

Our target audience is someone who explores to discover, not to check things off a list. They like to travel wide, not linear

Every city has its own flavor identity shaped by its streets, its people. FORAGE maps flavor identity, not the roads. Each circle represents a street food hub.
The circle is broken down into its flavor profile after selecting. Pick a street that matches your mood, and start your journey. Every starting point leads to a different experience.

After entering the city airport, you have to buy a the Centerpiece to unlock the city code.

That guides you through the city without demanding your attention. Enough direction to keep you moving, enough freedom to keep it interesting.
Destination arrow
Points you towards your chosen street food spot. No turn-by-turn, just a direction. The journey in between is yours.
POI (Point of Interest)
When you enter the radius of a culturally significant spot. The device notifies the user by vibrating and light pointing in its direction.
Souvenir
Bought at the airport or station when you arrive. Each city has its own illustration and color, unlocking that city's street food map on your phone. When the journey ends, it stays with you — a souvenir of every street you explored.
